TRANSPARENT GOBY

APHIA MINUTA

The Transparent Goby is a small, delicate fish known for its almost see-through body, which helps it avoid predators. Adults typically grow to about 2–3 inches in length. These fish are found in coastal waters and estuaries, often swimming in schools near the surface.

Transparent Gobies feed on plankton, tiny invertebrates, and other microscopic organisms. Their transparent bodies make them difficult to spot, providing excellent camouflage while hunting and avoiding larger fish.

These gobies play an important role in their ecosystem as prey for larger fish and as consumers of plankton, helping maintain a balanced food web in coastal habitats.
